Each Board member is expected to actively participate on at least one Board committee
Executive Committee: Meets once per month, on the second Monday of the month from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at DIRECT. Executive Committee membership is limited to officers of the Board (President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary). The Executive Committee is responsible to oversight of the strategic plan implementation, Board Meeting agenda review, personnel issues, and annual review of the Executive Director.
Finance Committee: Meets once per quarter and more if required. Meetings are scheduled according to the schedule of the members. The Finance Committee is responsible for providing fiscal oversight, authorization and approval of the annual A-133 audit, review of monthly financial statements, reviewing and approving the annual budget.
Fundraising Committee: meets twice per month on the second Monday from 5:00 to 6:00 PM and the last Thursday (before the Board meeting) from 4:30 to 5:30 PM at DIRECT. The committee members are responsible for setting an annual fundraising goal, and planning events and fundraising activities. All members are responsible for contributing to each event (soliciting golfers, sponsors, raffle prizes, selling raffle tickets, etc).
Nominating Committee: Meets on an as needed basis; subject to change. The Nominating Committee is responsible for encouraging Board participation in recommending potential Board members, interviewing potential Board members, assisting with the Brown Bag luncheon, participating in the Board member training sessions, periodically revising the committee policies and procedures, and making member recommendations to the full Board of Directors.
Various ad hoc committees are convened at the discretion of the President of the Board.
