About DIRECT Center for Independence, Inc.

DIRECT Center for Independence, Inc., came into existence as Metro Independent Living Center in 1980. It was the first agency of its kind in Arizona serving as a non-residential Independent Living Center operated by and for persons with disabilities. The Center became incorporated and got its 501(c)(3) status as an independent, non-profit agency in 1994.

DIRECT Center for Independence, Inc., is a consumer-directed, community-based advocacy organization that promotes independent living and offers a variety of programs for all people with disabilities. Through DIRECT's programs, people are encouraged to achieve their full potential and to participate in the community.
