Benefit Offset National Demonstration (BOND)

BOND, a work incentive SSA  program, is offered to certain SSDI beneficiaries in addition to the work incentives offered through our Arizona Freedom To Work Program.

What is the BOND?
The Benefit Offset National Demonstration (BOND) is a project created to help Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) beneficiaries return to work. Through the use of a benefit offset, we are testing a different way to treat SSDI beneficiaries’ work and earnings. This offset could help beneficiaries earn more and keep more of their benefits than currently possible

The BOND project helps beneficiaries who earn more keep more of their SSDI benefits. Under current Social Security Disability program rules, people earning more than $12,000 per year (after their Trial Work Period) generally have their benefits stopped. Under the BOND project, benefits will be reduced $1 for every $2 in earnings above $12,000, rather than stopped.

We work with eligible beneficiaries to determine if this project is right for them. We have BOND site offices, a BOND call center, and BOND staff available to help you learn more. Contact us today!
BOND is offered in 10 sites around the country, with a local office in each site.

Many Americans with disabilities make valuable contributions to the U.S. workforce every day. The Social Security Administration is evaluating the BOND project to help more people return to work and earn more, helping them take steps toward a better quality of life.
